The Library is mainly a reference library in the field of Medical and Allied Sciences. The Faculty of Health Sciences is in a period of growth and innovation and this necessarily impacts on the Health Sciences Library. Education programs are growing to meet the demand for additional health professionals, and new requirements for entry to practice. Programs are now more community based, more collaborative, and the curriculum is moving to a digital format. The Library is responding to these changes by focusing on web-based resources and services. The aim of the library is to develop the services and resources as state medical library for reference purpose for the whole medical community in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The Library opens from 9.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M. on all the working days. The Library remains entirely closed on all Second Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Contact Address : firstname.lastname@example.org
Members of the following institutions can become Regular members of the library:
Staff and students of Medical Colleges (allopathic, dental, Indian systems of medicine, nursing, physiotherapy etc.) affiliated to the university.
Staff of Govt. Hospitals and other teaching hospitals in Andhra Pradesh.
They should deposit their identity card of their respective colleges/hospitals at the counter for utilizing the library services and can collect the card at the time of leaving the library.
All outgoing publications will have to be shown to the Janitor, Janitor has been empowered to search all persons coming out of the library. Unauthorized removal of anything belonging to the library will be treated as theft and dealt accordingly.

A dedicated 2 MBPS line is available for browsing. To accessing of E-Resourses Like Journals,Books,Research Articals..etc through the Internet.
Only pages from the Books and Journals are allowed for Xeroxing. Full Books or Journals are not permitted. Personal materials are not permitted to be brought in the Library for Xeroxing. Any Xeroxed materials should be shown to the Janitor on duty before taken out of the Library.
In order that the library’s primary function as a place of work for students, teachers and researchers be maintained, all visitors must respect the following rules Visitors must behave in such a way as not to disturb or hinder the operation of the library.
Silence is to be observed in the reading rooms. In other parts of the library visitors are expected to speak in a quiet and unobtrusive manner.
Food and drink may not be consumed within the library.
Smoking is not allowed in the library. Mobile phones and other devices likely to cause disturbance may not be used in the Library The defacing of books and damage to Library property is strictly forbidden. No Library equipment may be moved, modified, tampered with or misused and users must comply with separately displayed instructions and regulations.
The University library computers are to be used for information searches, with priority for studies and research. Chatting and playing computer games is not allowed. Personal software programs and CDs cannot be used on the library computers. Library staff will help with basic computer use and searching strategies. Use of library computers must be for legal and ethical purposes. Anyone responsible for damaging computer and/or media equipment is liable for the full repairs or replacement cost of the equipment. All persons who use the library undertake to observe University Regulations and Rules. The Librarian shall at all times have authority to maintain good order in the University Library and may exclude from them or suspend from their use any reader who infringes the Regulations or Rules.
